The 14-Day First Look, Explained

What our exclusive search window actually buys a client — and what it doesn’t lock anyone into.

By Braydan Hartigan

Our flagship engagement is a 12-month strategic talent partnership. Each vacancy inside it gets a 14-day first-preference window, a documented search process, a 90-day replacement guarantee, and 12-month candidate attribution. The part that needs explaining is the 14 days.

A first look, not a lock-out

For 14 days on a given vacancy, we are the first desk working it. That is the entire restriction, and it is scoped strictly to those 14 days. It is not an open-ended exclusivity and it is not a period a client is locked in for. Where we have presented candidates inside the window, exclusivity continues for those candidates through to offer — which protects the work, not the engagement.

What the window buys

A real process instead of a race. Contingent recruitment rewards whoever throws CVs fastest; a scoped window rewards mapping the market properly — a named shortlist from a network we already hold, not a job-ad lottery. Run that way, the right engagement model roughly doubles the fill rate. That is the pitch: the window buys the client a process, not us a margin.

And if it doesn’t hold

Every placement carries a 90-day replacement guarantee. If it doesn’t hold, we run the search again. Fifteen minutes on the phone beats three weeks of the wrong engagement model — if you are weighing it up, ask us to talk it through.
